SHREENATH-JI TEMPLE NATHDAWRA

The Shrinathji Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna at Nathdwara. It is considered an important pilgrimage centre by Vaishnavas. The image of the deity according to the legend, is self-manifested from stone and emerged from Govardhan hills. Historically, the image was first worshipped at Govardhan hill, near Mathura. Lord Rama alongwith Sita and Lakshman had stopped here on their way back to Ayodhya. The local people helped Lord Rama out by serving him food, medicinal herbs and fruits which they had stored beforehand It is one of the 108 Shakti Peeths and an important pilgrimage site for the followers of Shakta religion. SHREE NARAYAN TEMPLE, NATHDAWRA – The biggest temple complex in the state of Rajasthan is dedicated to the Hindu god Shrinathji. The temple derives its name from the fact that it was founded by Maharaja Devan Singha and his minister named Shrey Narayan Singh.

RAJSAMAND LAKE

RAJSAMAND LAKE is a lake in the city of Rajsamand in the Rajsamand district of Indian state of Rajasthan. It is also called as Ganga Sagar, as it was constructed on a bed of sand deposited by the Ganges. The lake is located near Rajsamand city of Rajasthan and is known for its beautiful scenery, boating and fishing activities. The word “Rajsamand” means a “full-moon” in Hindi. Rajsamand Lake is one of the biggest lakes in Rajasthan and is located in this city. It has an area of around 6 km2, with a depth of 3 m. The lake was created as a result of construction works on a dam across River Banas. It has an area of 30 kilometres and an average depth of 2 meters (6 feet) . The lake, which is situated at an altitude of 930 m (2952 feet), is fed by water from a number of small rivers originating from glaciers. Lakes are an essential part of any ecosystem and Rajsamand Lake is no exception. It is also known as Seven Lakes due to the seven lakes present around it. Rajsamand Lake makes a part of ‘RAJSAMAND WATERFRONT’ which has world’s 13th longest shoreline length at 508km & world’s second longest row of islands with 6 islands, two peninsulas and three promontories.
