HALDIGHATI
Haldighati is located in the southern part of Nathdwara. It is a historical place which witnessed the great legendry battle between Maharana Pratap and the Mughal Emperor -Akbar in 1576 AD. The extensive terrain that was supposedly covered with blood (the sand turned red in colour) evokes a chill in the spine till date and envelopes a feel of nostalgia, this was the place where the heroic Chetak gallant charger with his dedicated loyalty towards his chivalrous master (Maharana Pratap) proved his worth by co-operating till his last breath. The extensive terrain of three km laid with red sand and covered with blood of a hundred thousand soldiers who fought for five days, popularly called as the ‘Battle of Haldighati’, is still an attraction for tourists from all over India. The Haldighati battle is considered as one of the most important battle in the history which highlighted bravery and valour of Rajputs to defend their ancestral land against invading forces led by Emperor Akbar. A jeep trail is established on this historical site where you can get close look of the magnificence and historical importance of this place.
